The all-new Lexus RZ 450e is the first-ever fully electric offering from the brand. Featuring standard DIRECT4 all-wheel drive and Lexus’ most advanced connectivity, the all-electric crossover helps you step into the future of automotive.
Efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to electric vehicles, so how efficient is the Lexus RZ 450e exactly? The new RZ has a manufacturer-projected range of up to 220 miles, utilizing a dedicated battery electric platform to significantly evolve vehicle performance for an exhilarating drive.
Using 6.6 kW AC power, the RZ 450e is expected to charge from zero to 310 kilometers in 11 hours and 30 minutes. Utilizing 147 kW DC fast charging, the model is expected to charge from 31 to 248 kilometers in just under half an hour (28 minutes).
Lexus RZ 450e Performance
As the first fully electric Lexus vehicle, the RZ 450e shares other firsts in its design. The Lexus-first battery electric platform offers high levels of stability and ride comfort by mounting the battery under the vehicle floor for a low center of gravity and moment of inertia.
The newly developed high-output electronic axle, or eAxle, fully integrates the motor, transaxle and inverter within a compact unit to promote cruise range. The design of the model allows increased interior and cargo space, thanks to the short front/rear system layout.
DIRECT4 is the core technology of Lexus Electrified and is standard across the entire RZ line. The all-wheel drive system uses vehicle wheel speed, acceleration, and steering angle sensor information to control front-to-rear drive ratio distribution between 100:0 and 0:100.
In response, DIRECT4 reliably produces improved start-up acceleration, handling stability and low power consumption.
